I actually don't want to install a multiguage either, it's just if I was looking for a toy to buy my bike that would be my preference over a gear indicator, the facilities such as coolant temp, ambient air temp, battery voltage, and speedo correction can all be used when the bike is at a standstill so don't pose any distraction and for my money would be far more useful.
Anyhow if I couldn't see a bright red number in my peripheral vision then quite possibly I shouldn't be riding at all.
