gave the bike a bit of a clean after a blast out and noticed that the scottoiler vacuum adapter looked like it wasn't fitting the spigot tightly or was too small.
I contacted scottoiler and it turns out that the fazer gen 1 requires a different fitting to what comes in the standard scottoiler and they tell me that by using the standard fitting ( black) and not the larger ( grey) that it could cause lean running and burn out the valves which has now got me in a bit of a panic because I don't know how long the previous owner had it fitted ( although it looks quite new ) and I am getting some symptoms of lean surging.
Would a dodgy fitting scottoiler vacuum adapter cause the lean surge and is the burnt valves Armageddon warning from scottoiler a possibility ??
Also a warning to anyone with a gen 1 that hasn't got the grey adapter fitted that they should have one.
I'm not going to use it until the correct one arrives from scottoiler ( £8.50 inc post )
