I've just paid my balance today and reading your posts has got me more excited ( if that's possible ),I've been dying to do it for years and the opportunity came up financially and me and the mrs thought we've gotta do it ,luckily my in laws live in Heysham near the ferry so they can look after the dog for the week.
I'm too old and arthritic to do camping and not quick enough to book a hotel so we decided on glamping,
got goosebumps now writing this and thinking about it ... can't wait :woot
You will love it, the racing/practice/qualifying is just so exciting, I have done a lot of attending circuit road races over the years, and have loved it (I was a grease monkey for a friend who raced a Morgo Bonneville years ago, in mid 70's) and I had access to the pits. That was exciting enough but take away the grass run off the areas and the tyre walls and bails of straw on all of the sharp bends and replace them with stone walls, telegraph poles and metal road sign posts, then add dips and undulations associated with normal roads, not forgetting manhole covers and white lines and you got yourself a tiger by the tail.
For me the IOM TT is the greatest Adrenalin rush I have ever had. OK I have had some rushes when the arse end of my bike has kicked out on me and scatted me off up the road, but that's over in 20 seconds or so, these TT rushes go on for 30 plus miles a lap, I feel exhausted after a race and all I have done is sit or stand there and watch, the TT riders are incredibly fit, some of the old classic riders are in their 60's FFS, and they still fly.
Watch out for Jenny Tinmouth, not only is she a hotty she is one bad arsed competitor on the track, if I could ride one tenth as good as she does I would be one happy boy, and when she hangs her arse over the side when cornering :eek WELL :b
