Sorted, wasn't computer settings, using TV as monitor and had adjusted screen size via settings without realising what effect it would have on the desktop etc. Doh

If your tv is set as Auto Aspect Ratio, it may set itself to the wrong one when connecting your computer, depending on its resolution.
Try changing it to one of the manual settings (e.g. 16:9, 4:3 etc.) and you should be able to get the whole desktop on the screen.

Thats exactly what I did, I'd had issues with my keyboard so used the monitor as a TV and must have changed the screen size not realising the problems it would cause me when going online, sorted now, but was a little frustrating trying to work out what I'd done to cause the issue
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!
