I have stumpy legs too (only 5'5") but paid an extra £230 for the genuine Yamaha lowering kit (which the dealer fitted for me for free), had the suspension set up at Race Lab and it's absolutely perfect. Very light compared to the Fazer and a joy to ride.

That sounds like the perfect solution. The Fazer's weight is a big issue for me too.
