Clocks flashing when stationary at lights??

Maybe it not generating enough voltage to charge the battery and run the lights and other electrical when on tick over but as engine revs rise charging increases enough to run and charge so the battery doesn't really lose the charge or replenishes on a long run.
Could it be the regulator / rectifier ?? Can you check alternator output with multimeter ?? |
