Could be the starter motor itself. The carbon brushes have to make physical contact with the rotor so they wear down over time. If it refuses to start again try giving the starter motor a few taps with a hammer while you press the starter button and if it starts to turn over then you know it's the motor that's the problem or just take the motor out and have a look at the brushes.
