R6 rear shock vs BMW S1000RR
#3
I've fitted the later BMW shock and fitted a harder spring (not sure what effect this will have on the damping) If you go this route you'll need to hit the centerstand bracket with a grinder as the lower linkage hits the bracket. The shock needs filing around the top mount as it wont line up with the holes in the bracket on the frame until you've removed some material. The coolant reservior needs either modifying or relocating and you'll need adjustable (or the exact length) dog bones to stop the shock hitting the cross brace on the swingarm.

Other than that its a straight swap............

It may be slightly cheaper than the R6 etc swap but straight forward it isn't.

Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!
