Exup versus Black Widow Headers <Solved>
#10

The EXUP valve on my Gen 1 Fazer was seized when I got the bike. I stripped it out and refitted a secondhand plate which had a bolt through the spindle hole. So my Fazer currently runs with no valve but standard headers. Apart from a flat spot from tickover to about 2K rpm, which can be ridden through with careful throttle application, I cant fault it. But if you really want it to go, just slip the clutch to about 2.5K and then hold on tight. I have most of the bits to put my EXUP back in nowadays, but I'm so used to it now I cant be arsed to re fit it.

When I was facing running a Fazer with no EXUP, I found lots of scary stories about having no bottom end at all and not running properly, but I found it very manageable. It seems to sound better than an EXUP equipped one too.
