V2's tend to have more midrange and less top end than inline 4's, they are quite commonly lumpy in the lower revs with sometimes snatchy throttle (Depends on the model) A V4 is like a cross between a v2 and an inline 4, as it tends to have similar bottom end, a little less midrange Than a v2, more midrange than an inline 4 and again depends on the model will have either more or less top end   Hope that helps.
