Good sintered brake pads that wont eat the discs?

I fitted Galfer FD178G front pads last year. They're supposed to reduce disc wear and give very progressive braking but the down side is they do lack some initial bite compared to EBC and OEM  pads. They were good over the Winter but with Spring here and Summer not far off I'm thinking of replacing them with EBC sintered.
