Not a problem, I have repaired plenty of them like that. The plug you buy and be opened. Cut off the old plug strip back sheath and connect the inner covered cable to centre section of the plug and the outer wire to the outer side of the plug. I usually put some shrink wrap over the connections in the plug to ensure they do not touch and screw the cover back on. Costs less than a fiver
