My first bike!!! Fz6n but is cutting out whilst on idle or low revs

Hello one and all!!!

Just a quick message to say hi and to ask advice on a problem I had yesterday whilst driving MY FIRST BIKE back from the garage. When stopping at traffic lights or on low revs plodding through built up areas my 54 plate fz6n was cutting out on me and was a bit temperamental to start back up. As I'm a first time rider I don't know my bike well enough yet, so was wondering if anyone could help

You need to start with simple steps first:

Have you regulated your idle speed? It must be about 1200ish. Check your manual.

New bike I would change the plugs. The low rev issue sometimes is due to the plug caps bad connection. Put some Vaseline around the lead to sort it out.

It'll appear dIAg on the display, you can release them now. Afterwards use select until you see a d01 (Diagnostic Mode for the TPS)

Then it should read between 15 and 17 if the throttle is closed,
With the throttle fully open, it should read between 97 and 100.

If the values are over or below those I mentioned, the TPS should be replaced.

To leave the dIAG mode, simply turn the key counter clockwise.
