I would not bother testing the thermostat with a thermometer, mainly because I do not have a thermometer, you might as well just replace it while you have the housing off, also flush the coolant out to get rid of any sludge and replace with new.

Or you could move from Singapore to here in BritainĀ  where the temperature is more likely to be 31f than 31c. :lol
