front brake calliper issues

Take the caliper and clamp it in a vice, Use blocks of wood to protect it if the vice has serrated jaws. Get an old drill bit (6mm-1/4"), Blunt the drill bit, You want it to grip but not start cutting. Use the drill from the inside of the caliper onto the unbroken end of the bolt. Make sure the drill has a slow start on it and turn the speed & torque right down. Lean into the drill and make sure you are applying a fair bit of pressure


If done right the drill will grip the bolt enough to start winding the broken thread out. Only wind it out until you have enough protruding thread to get hold off with a pair of grips to wind the rest of the way out. Then just to make sure the damaged bolt hasn't caught the thread clean up with greased tap of the correct thread.
