hope your daughter's ok esetest, send her our best wishes
cable......understand your point and I know she's in the best place but the stroke ward should be for stroke patients. problems arise when ozzys are short of beds and plonk anyone in any bed. These last few weeks have seen patients with chest infections, dementia etc placed on her ward......it was getting her down as she saw all these elderly "stroke" victims going home before her when ozzy are telling her she's doing great. It began to depress her as she then thought there was something wrong with her
also had a dementia patient crying/shouting out loud at all hours of the day and night (not her fault) which meant no one getting any rest/sleep
on top of all this, the 5th ward patients got the physio over the stroke patients
this is why we're all angry (including the physio's)
the easiest way to put it is to liken someone on a critical care ward needing round the clock treatment and someone with the flu getting a bed in there or the Doc being called away to deal with the flu patient in the next ward.......extreme example I know......but you get my drift
It's one thing having spare beds and if a particular ward is full the ozzy has to fit people in which I understand but Triage works on the basis of those needing priority and I'd argue here that the stroke patients are losing priority due to the old tick box scenario
