Fazers are great bikes and very easy to work on. Access is very good for most parts.
The CCT on the fazer is very reliable and does not normally stick unless the bike was idle for a very long time and the oil drains off it and some rust take hold, but even that is not to common. Most likely a worn cam chain or the CCT between notches due to wear on the cam chain.
