Anybody got rid of the EXUP Valve and lived to tell the tale ?

I replaced the exup on both of my R1s (5jj carbs) and (5pw injection) with race Hindle headers , the 5jj gave more power through out the rev range 73 torque and 132 bhp with exup to 79 torque and 144 bhp with Hindle headers and about 1 hour dyno time,  i havnt dynoed the 5pw yet, i think if you want to remove the exup i would  fit either race headers or wire it open, i know its a Fazer not an R1 but there isn't that much difference
