Yours does look slightly different although its hard to tell from the pics you've posted. TBH you may have saved yourself some extra work as I will have to somehow seal the cdi tray or prevent water from spraying up through a couple of holes that such drastic cutting created

Being able to use such a small number plate also gives youi more options
