The difficultly here is that the discrepancy exists in Yamaha’s own literature.
My view is that an exhaust clearance range of 0.21 to 0.30 mm has the same tolerance range as for the intake valves and that if you aim for a clearance of 0.25 mm you would err very slightly towards the tighter end of the range. Unfortunately without access to the factory there’s little we can do to confirm this.
