New guy from the northeast says hi!
#24
No yelling from me, but Bikerz, you really do need to decide what you want the bike for and how you intend to ride & look after it, before deciding which of these you're going for.

They're chalk and cheese. Personally the Harley is definitely not for me - I like corners and like some wind protection, plus the Harley riding position doesn't suit me at all.

Ago old friend was only 5'5" tall had issues with his Fazer 600 because of the seat height - he toppled a couple of times at very low speed, when parking up - and after trying a load of bikes settled on a Harley 883 "night"something I think. Although the bike looked beautiful and the seat height was perfect, Dave felt the suspension quality and cornering/handling were major issues at the speeds he liked to ride.

The real nail in the coffin for the Harley was something which was really Dave's fault rather than the bikes - he didn't like spending too much time cleaning and polishing his bikes to keep them looking good. With all of the nooks and crannies, the Harley pretty quickly looked shabby - like I say though that's probably only relative because it looked so good when cleaned and shining.

Dave did regret changing from the Fazer, but if he'd been more of a tinkerer and had been happier at a slower pace with less focus on cornering fun, then I think the Harley might have been the more rewarding bike to "own".
