I use my Windows phone in the car. It uses Here Maps which is quite good. Ok it doesn't do vias,only point to point but that aside I've not really had any problems. Except in Cornwall where reception's rubbish, it sometimes can't find things then.
I had a wedge shaped satnav years ago, can't remember if it was tom tom or Garmin. It didn't last long, the speaker gave up. The Garmin Nuvi 200 was quite good. The RAC one was ok until they did a software upgrade then it was useless.
