The trouble with the English is the unrealsitc expectations you have any time you enter any competition ever. You always expect and claim to be the champions in waiting without actually possessing the requisite skills or more importantly giving the respect that other nations deserve. Until you finally put to bed for good the absurd dillusion that everything English is somehow "the dogs bollocks" you will be doomed to failure and inevitable disappointment and will be universally dismissed as arogant, misguided and disliked idiots by anyone not English. 
I should add that I am not English and of course that makes me totally biased and unsuitable to pass any meaniful comment on anything regarding them. :lol
