So you really should be running 55w ballast and bulbs and not have them connected to the battery in anyway, the only HID harness that has to be connected to the battery direct is a dual element HID as it needs constant power when lights are on to make it work as a dual element.
What was the k's of the bulbs you use(d) as I said earlier, I only use 6000k as these seem to be the most stable that I've found and apart from that, they are a far crisper light as far as I'm concerned
