i use mine in the country a lot, ive got the spotlights wired to main beam and an led bulb in place of the original h4 main beam bulb so its only draining 45w or so from the plug.
dip beam is usually crap so osram nightbreaker or hid (nightbreaker is easier) and inside it has a bowl that reflects the light back, peel back the legs holding it and take it out it improves the lighting.
