FZS 600 Parts For Sale (Potentially)
#7
I like Yamaha too however I'm not really fussed about "brand loyalty" personally, if someone makes a good bike then I will be interested in it. Yamaha do make a lot of good bikes though, I think if you like the TRX you should check out the MT-07, it is reviewed so highly everywhere I look. Honestly, I have quite gone off the whole supermoto thing as they are stupidly priced for what are often quite poor condition and very single purpose bikes. My mate borrowed an XT 660 for a week and unfortunately I never had a go but he didn't really get on with it at all. He hated the vibrations, said it was really jerky and ran out of puff at about 60mph where his ER-6 would still be pulling hard in 2nd / 3rd. Even that is down on power to the Fazer 600. I find going to Wales on the M5 quite a pain on the Fazer, so I cant imagine how bad it would be on a single cylinder thumper sat on a tiny plank for a seat.

I'm going back to my original love which is muscle bikes. Ever since I had a go on my mates GSX1400 a few years ago I have thought they are amazing. I love the beefy classic look and have tried to replicate it with my Fazer, but it doesn't have the sheer bulk to pull it off properly. Nor does it have the torque. I would love an XJR1300 but they are out of my price range, as is the GSX 1400 for now. So I am not going to lie, I'm looking at a mark 1 original naked Bandit 1200. I want to get one fairly stock as possible then mod it to my own taste, no stupid florescent wheels or pointy up shark tails. I know its not as good as a Fazer 1000, I don't care to be honest. I like the naked look and there's a lot of modding to be done to a bandit. Bandit has more low grunt and I like the old school nature of it. I think the Fazer 1000 looks fantastic and no doubt is much better over all but after having the Fazer 600, I want something different entirely not just more of the same. If I dont like the Bandit, I'll sell it and hopefully not make much loss then buy something completely different again. Experimenting and excitement is what biking should be about after all!
