I have a CBF1000 and had the FZS600 previously (with an ST1100 inbetween).
The CBF is very much like the FZS but with much more torque. Great for riding anywhere but no need to play around the gears unless you want to. I have not commuted on mine but have used it to go to France a few times.
Given the choice of the Dullville or the CBF I would go for the CBF.
Alternators are a weak point on the CBF. Not sure what common issues there are on the Dullville.
