As per title, I've had enough of the shite Windows 8 and want to buy Windows 7. Had a scout round but can't seem to find anywhere that I can walk in and walk out with a set of software in my hands. I can only find online download sites like the link below. So am I ok to do it this way or are there any other options? Also, what's the difference between Windows 7 home and professional editions? Essentially, the only use that I specifically need is the ability for the version to be able to accept a USB to serial adapter.

All advice as always appreciated. :thumbup
Frosties you do not need to upgrade from win 8 to win 10 in order to have good old win 7 start menu.
You just need this free program: http://lee-soft.com/vistart/
To get back the windows 7 look and feel.
I have windows 8 upgraded to windows 10 and now downgraded back to win 8.
Win 10 is miniscule faster and you loose the most important feature for me - OneDrive smart offline files.
Not to mention how hard is to downgrade. I am IT guy from 20 years and have to say win 10 is piece of crap. Avoid.
