At this time of year I only apply the choke briefly and sometimes only half on, just to get the engine going, then maybe hold the throttle slightly open with the choke off to warm up a bit before riding.
...slightly open meaning approx the normal idle speed of the engine when hot.

Yep turn off what little choke was used almost straight away and use the throttle as the engine will not be idling at the normal speed but if i try to give too many beans at this stage before the engine is ready it will bog down. Gently dose it awaking the beast
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
