I am giving him 6 months notice to vacate the property as I intend to return to the UK in January, health reasons (my arse)

I thought that you as the landlord only need give 2 months notice.
Funny how he was happy and content - was paying low rent then along comes this woman gives him grief and then gives you grief.
This grief you are getting now will not end with new white goods and a boiler it will be on going about every little thing you are best shot of them.
