The needle can go surprisingly far below the empty mark but the light should come on long before that. Is the bulb still working? Do the low oil and low petrol lights both light up when you press the started button?

yes, the bulbs work, but ive not run it this low in the year and half ive had it... when i bought the bike the fuel light was on and i filled up , it will proberbly come on when I roll the 300 yard down the hill to the petrol station
