Church Stretton to Asterton (Longmynd) via Burway Road/ Bur Way and the Port Way is single track and very scenic. Google it to research afore ye go. Takes you past the Midland Gliding club which on a good day makes for interesting viewing along with the nutters who throw themselves off the steep hill nearby on those big flying upside down hammocks.
Not a scratching route by any means, but very worthy of a visit certainly.
Before you start the run, it's worth calling into Carding mill Valley park. A dead end and quite touristy with facilities, but is once again seen from atop of Bur Way when you're riding toward Asterton from Church Stretton.
Once you get to Asterton down the steep hill from the Longmynd, make your own route up back home. Mine usually involves back up north toward Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch, but that's going away from your base at Craven arms.
