Keep checking the TPS occasionally, and keep an eye on the rev counter as well, as the TPS can break down rather than just stop working, you won't notice it so much when giving the bike a bit of welly, but overall it won't feel quite right.
If the speedo isn't working you haven't got much to lose by investigating further anyway.
I presume the new lugs all went back in the right position?
