PERMISSION TO COME BACK PLEASE?
#9
Confused as to 'he', 'Nick', welsh bushes but hope to catch up.
Thanks for all the comments and 'yes', it is the one that was up for sale on Ebay recently.
Paid seller full whack, but believe it was worth it.
It's as good as the photo's suggested and at less than 5000 miles along with the subtle extras, would have likely made it over 4k from a stealer.
It's not perfect though.  Bit of recomissioning needed.
Guy was more of 'how it looks' than how to look after it properly.
Asked if exup valve was okay, - 'what's that?' - No error codes but Exup valve is stuck, no motor heard, no rust around anywhere, so should (hope) be an easy task.  Already ordered me stainless capheads from Stig fasteners.
Running lumpy at idle, he hadn't used it since 2013 and his own admission just filled it with (a little) fresh fuel and took it for mot before I bought it. Original Metz 4 tyres (loadsa life left on the  rear so not a hard rider) with BIG chicken strips, only just begun squaring off at back.  Although he'd had it dealer serviced every year up 'till 2010, nothing done since and probably never had brake fluid or coolant change.  Engine oil and filter is from 2010 as is battery. I'll do the lot.
So with a few pennies more and when I've twirled a few spanners on it meself, it'll be a good 'un.
It'll be a REALLY good 'un when I go full Monty again, or should I leave it bog standard?
Mike, I do miss the blue '54 plate I sold your mate and I'm gonna want this one to go the same aren't I?  :rolleyes
Hope you'll be doing a run in the UK again next year, should I put my name down now?
IF IT AIN'T BROKE, FIX IT 'TILL IT IS.
