Have you got an alarm? I went to start my newly purchased bike after who knows how long without being started and the dash wouldn't even light up! 9 hours on charge later and the dash lights up but clicks when I fire it up. All I can think of is it's been sitting a while and has a thirsty alarm. For the record it's a 2011 with 5k on the clock and the original battery
