parking at work
#19
got to admit I haven't read every single post on this but my personal experience has taught me that motorcycle parking can be a nasty business. Rational reasoning and logicality that we all take for granted unfortunately doesn't apply in the world of motorcycle parking.....and don't ask me how I know.

The theory, or at least the only way I can make any sense of motorcycle parking problems is usually caused by prejudiced mind-set's against motorcycles/motorcyclists and as with any form of prejudiced thinking and discrimination it originates from fear and weakness.

Motorcycles are viewed as 'bad' whilst cars are viewed as 'good'......And yes ok maybe motorcycling did have a rebellious image in the Ace Café ton up boys days but go down to any Rockers Reunion in Brighton and you'll see these guys past retirement age are as civilised as people get. Sportsbike 70's era bikers are mature people now,...some with established careers and hard earned and dare I say riding well fitted out adventure bikes. Yes times have changed.

But what's tragic is that in this anti discrimination/pro-'human rights' obsessed country - 'vulnerable road users' ie us motorcyclists are put at worse risk than we already are by being forced to park our bikes in the more dangerous parking locations instead of the more safe parking locations.
Obviously its important to get along with everybody and that's the best way of achieving what we want but sometimes as in the case with m/cycle parking there are people in society who simply can't get along with every one so weather its motorcycle parking issues or racial issues there will never be any winners with these types of people.
The road to success is always under construction.....
Happiness is finding you have another gear left....
If there's no solution then its not a problem.
