HELP ! Burning electrical smell - any ideas?

Had a bit of time to think about this - Going to investigate this afternoon - the first thing I'm going to look at is whether the EXUP valve is working, cos I've not stripped it since getting the bike 18 months ago - where is the EXUP motor located?
