Standard Fork settings for 2003 FZS1000
#5

Mike, is this with the standard forks? Haven't you got R1 forks on your bike?

The choppy ride is due to harsh high speed compression damping and that's not something you can affect much - if at all - with the adjuster.  It's due to the basic design of the valves inside the forks.  Lighterweight fork oil (2.5w - 5w) can help a bit.  Depends, though, on how heavy you are.

I got best results with Silkolene RSF 2.5w oil, preload on 2 rings showing.  Compression adjuster 12 clicks out, rebound 4 clicks out.  I'm about 14st in kit.
