From my limited experience (only just gone from OEM progressive to K-Tech linear) I would say it depends on your priorities. If you use your bike mainly for one up hooning then linear all the way, assuming you take advice and get the right springs for your weight. If you use your bike as a jack of all trades for Sunday one-up blasts, regular commuting with luggage and occasional two-up touring then progressive would probably be the way to go.
