I did Falcon's R1 fork conversion on my old 1000
I also did the 5SL fork conversion on my old 1000 & more recently I did a 5EB fork conversion for our 600s:

Please note that NONE of these conversions will be a straight bolt-on swap - indeed, you will need different yokes & a replacement front wheel for all of them.
You don't need USDs but they do look well. They will be a lot of hassle and £400+ tho!
