As long as the loom bought did not have an alarm then those connectors would be on the loom as they are part of it.

If there are black wires hanging loose then it is likely that the connectors were cut off to fit an alarm and you are left with the same situation as you had with the original loom.

What is important here is

1. Are your headlights controlled by the ECU or handlebar switch?
2. Which loom are you fitting? The later UK and EU looms have a White wire with a black tracer (white/black) which was not on the earlier looms. this wire is on the connector to the ECU the large connector to the clocks and the connector for the primary headlight relay.
The US does not have this white/ black wire as their headlight are always on.

If you can use a meter it is easy enough to trace the black wires

For your info. the ECU switches an earth via the white/black wire to power the primary headlight relay when the engine starts.

What code is on the ECU as this will also tell you what model you have
