You are half-right: if you look at the 1st picture of my old thread:

The bottom fork is the Fazer 1000, which is clearly longest by some 40mm. HOWEVER, the 600's forks are shorter than the 1000 and are actually the same length as the top R6 fork (and indeed the blingy R1 fork in the middle).
