Ratner was a very reputable manufacturer of safes and this one probably dates back to the late 1920's or early 30's. It would be described as a safe deposit box or jewelers overnight safe.
The problem is that this type of safe is not acceptable by insurers because of its obsolete design so it use is limited to confidential documents and petty cash. To a dealer in used safes it has very little value and it would probably cost more for them to collect it than it is worth.
