New bikes

A few things I've noticed, a lot of bikes now have an exhaust valve on show, or a crappy plastic cover over it with a servo cable coming out of the wire. Looks really ugly. Why they can't put them on the other(inside) side of the pipe. If you didn't know the FZS 1000  had the Exup you'd never know it had one. Also some bikes have the Regulator/Rectifier in a stupid place, a really ugly piece of kit, I know it needs cooling but surely some sort of mild ducting could do the job if it was hidden. My old brain can't think which bikes are like this but ask in 20 years time when i remember.
