I think you might be right!

A bit more investigation and it seems to be something to do with the neutral switch. When I put the sidestand down the engine cuts out as if it's still in gear.

I know the indicator light works, but looking at the wiring diagram there's a separate signal wire that runs to the ignition isolation system so I'm guessing it's something to do with that.

Either way I have more pressing things to worry about, like my upcoming MOT, so a little problem like that can wait!
