[Help] Has anyone fitted either a Koso speedo or any other non-standard speedo?
#1
Struggling to get/find information on this.

I'm looking to get rid of my standard cluster as my 99 FZS600 is a bit of a streetfighter (not much, just a bit) and the instrument cluster is massive.
I'd like to fit either a KOSO DB01 or some more traditional pot gauges (on the small side).

I'm facing a number of problems, some of which maybe you can help with:

1. I need info regarding the fitting/wiring of a Koso to a Fazer. Problems? Solutions?
2. Info about other speedo's you've fitted. Recommendations? Issues?
3. Have a used Koso speedo you want to sell for a nice price? Maybe some small pot gauges?

What i DO have is a wiring diagram to connect a Koso DB01 to a FZS600, so i *think* it'd just be a case of snipping wires before the connector and adding connections per-wire and mating them to the equivalent wire on the Koso.

Here's that diagram:

And here's an idea of what i could do with the instruments compared to how the OEM part is currently mounted.

I'd be more than happy to go for the 'Cafe' option above, but finding matching gauges for reasonable money is proving amazingly difficult. Most gauges with a backlight cost a damn fortune and i wouldn't know how to connect them to the bike.

Realistically; I only need a speedo and fuel warning light. But a speedo with matching rev counter and built-in idiot lights would be great. I don't know. I'm just testing the waters to see what i can and can't get away with as i think how i currently have the bike set up looks a bit clumsy and messy.
