My bike has a very similar problem, but either running lights or brake light kills everything (even the engine) and then the bike will decide when it will power up again. I have to leave the ignition on and sometimes it will all power up straight away and sometimes I have to wait 5 mins before the dash comes on it decides it will work. When it is working, it starts and runs fine, until I turn on lights or apply the brake and the brake light comes on!
