Only thing I can think that might have caused that is if the calliper hit a curb when the previous rider was filtering through traffic etc, but even then he/she would have had to hit it F***ing hard.
As its a brake I would advise NOT trying to bend that part of the caliper straight again as its likely been stresses and bending it back will stress it some more and if it dosen't snap now it might under braking etc.
