I got a chance to crawl around in the back of the BBMF Lancaster when I was a kid with the ATC. Got a photo of our squadron (4F) lined up in front of it outside the hangar somewhere 
We did a week at RAF Coningsby - felt privileged to be able to do that even at the tender age of (about) 13. We also got to help the mechs working on the Phantoms that were based there at the time - now those were impressive jets!
