I'd imagine so Mick, pooter is less than 12 months old?
never been prompted to update, how can I check it?

I bought a new laptop 2 months ago and have been having the same issues you describe. Sometimes there is no sound for no apparent reason and sometimes videos on youtube don't play. I just reboot it as its quick. Im on windows 8 and IE.

If I find anything out I'll post here as well, but not too bothered about the problem at present.
